Sexual health (under 25)
Overview
The service is a free primary care based sexual health and contraception service for under 25-year olds.
The aim is to improve the sexual and reproductive health of young people and to improve access to first level GP services in order to facilitate:
- a sexual health service that is well utilised by youth
- a sexual and reproductive health service that is confidential, safe, accessible and friendly for young people
- an increased cervical screening rate.
The objectives of the service are to:
- ensure all young people have access to free contraceptive advice and clinical services
- reach young people who live in rural or isolated areas with regard to the above services
- ensure contraceptive services for young people are confidential, friendly and safe.
