Long acting reversible contraceptives (LARCs)

Overview

This programme provides funding for contraceptive consultation including administration of Depo Provera, and the insertion of contraceptive implants and IUDs to target populations. Removal of these devices as necessary is also funded. These devices can be inserted by any suitably trained health professional.

These contraceptives are referred to within the programme as long acting reversible contraceptives (LARCS).

This service is part of the Advanced Primary Options programme.
