Service users returning a normal test result should be informed of the result by text/ email or phone as appropriate and exited from the Service. Assessment of vaccination status as per current New Zealand National Immunisation Schedule recommendations Noting of any other medical concerns that may need future follow up Patients returning an abnormal TB test result will be offered a fully funded 45-minute follow-up consultation to discuss the results of the test. Management and notification of an abnormal TB result should be in line with clinical guidelines . Notifying patients of a normal TB test result does not count as a follow-up consultation and cannot be claimed as such. Any other health concerns (e.g., diabetes) identified from the first consultation should be followed up through future consultations at an enrolled general practice. The client will have to book these consultations separately and will incur the normal charges to see a doctor. General practices can access and book interpreters in the chosen language for their patient by using existing interpreting services (if available) or the national Telehealth and Video Interpreting Service (currently delivered via Connecting Now).

Ukrainians who report they are in New Zealand under the Visa will be eligible for this Service on a voluntary basis.

Refugees who have entered New Zealand under the usual refugee pathway. This health assessment is not the equivalent of a refugee health screening service, nor is it a routine primary care service assessment. Any other health concerns (e.g., diabetes) identified from the first consultation should be followed up through future consultations at an enrolled general practice. The client will have to book these consultations separately and will incur the normal charges to see a doctor.

The episode of care ends when the outcome and claim are submitted. Payment will be made once an outcome has been lodged for the case. Claiming guidelines All services are provided at no cost to the patient. If the claim cannot be funded by this service, the patient may be liable to the practice for the fees incurred. Any other health concerns (e.g., diabetes) identified from the first consultation should be followed up through future consultations at an enrolled general practice. The patients will have to book these consultations separately and will incur normal co-payment charges. These claims are limited to one per patient per provider These consultations cover all time and consumables and there can be no extra charge to the patient. Please note that if a review of claiming indicates that a claim has been paid for a patient who was not eligible for this service then you will be required to repay the claim.

Practices are required to provide sufficiently detailed consultation notes to determine appropriate use of funding. Your notes should include the following. Tuberculosis (TB) assessment and referral for the appropriate TB test as per pathway. This must include documentation of the test result. Notifications to the local public health service/unit also need to be included Discussion of the abnormal TB test results Documentation of the patient being informed of a normal result by text/ email or phone as appropriate.
