Te Pitomata Grants applications now open
Te Pitomata Grants support the development of the Māori health workforce by contributing to course-related costs, including tuition fees and living expenses, for eligible tauira Māori enrolled in NZQA-accredited health or disability-related study, or Rongoā Māori programmes.
For 2026, grants are available across four categories:
- Undergraduate (nursing, midwifery, and Allied Health, Scientific & Technical qualifications at NZQA Level 7 and above).
- Medical and dentistry.
- Rongoā Māori (for those training alongside a tohunga for a minimum of 100 hours).
- Postgraduate clinical (patient-facing clinical pathways including nurse practitioner, Nurse Prescribers, and Clinical Psychology).
Applications close midday, Wednesday 1 April.
