Online GP in urgent and after hours care and rural settings
Te Whatu Ora Health New Zealand is seeking EOIs from urgent care centres, after hours providers and rural hospitals and rural integrated health services to offer online GP consultations within their facility. This initiative aims to help people who find it difficult to reach or enrol with general practice by allowing them to consult a GP online from an urgent care centre or rural hospital and integrated health service.
Participating sites will get one-time funding for a private digital space, including equipment such as laptops, audio hardware, screens, headphones, and booths/pods.
Additional ongoing funding for basic remote examination devices (for example, TytoCare) may be available for rural hospitals, integrated health services or urgent care centres operating extended hours.
Te Whatu Ora will be using an on-line form for you to complete in order to register your interest by 23 April 2026. They are also using standard ROI terms to govern this EOI process.
Visit the GETS website to access further details about this opportunity and the registration form.
