Medtech and Medtech Evolution users: Bowel screening Patient Prompt enhancements

Te Manawa Taki (Midlands) bowel screening was added into the Patient Prompt in 2022. Te Whatu Ora is pleased to share that further enhancements were made to the Bowel Screening Patient Prompt on Wednesday 10 September . Key enhancements If a patient had a negative result more than 27 months ago, Patient Prompt will flag the need for re-screening. Patients referred for a bowel screening colonoscopy 5 or more years ago will be offered the opportunity to resume screening. 90 days after a bowel colonoscopy referral, Patient Prompt will prompt whether results are available. If not, it will prompt an enquiry regarding the result. Withdrawal options Patients can now choose to withdraw from the programme either for the current 2-year cycle or permanently. Clinicians can also withdraw patients (for clinical reasons) either for the current 2-year cycle or permanently. Enhanced selection of clinical withdrawal reasons, which are now captured via the National Bowel Screening Programme web service.
