Assisted Dying Service update and Expression of Interest
Published: 21 May 2025
The Assisted Dying service is sharing this update about the service specifications, payments and process in the hope of stimulating interest in doctors and nurse practitioners in becoming providers. As with all end of life care, this is complex work that can be incredibly rewarding. Jo Scott-Jones is often asked by colleagues whether a GP could confine themselves to providing the service only to their own patients. Yes, this is entirely possible, you do not have to be part of the national pool of providers. This is complex work and with a growing number of patients expressing interest and asking questions about the service, all clinical staff need to know how to respond, and what to listen for when a patient is potentially seeking information. Please read the attached update and EOI document and review the resources on the Pinnacle website . Dr Jo is happy to have a conversation with individuals or teams about the Assisted Dying service.
