B4 School Check (B4SC) two-day training for registered nurses within Waikato region

The Ministry of Health has introduced standards for B4SC training, recommending 24 hours of initial training for new B4SC nurses. The assessments as well as supervised practice makes up for the hours uncounted. This training is for Waikato region only.

    About this event

    The Ministry of Health standards for B4SC training, recommend 24 hours of initial training for all new B4SC nurses. The assessments as well as supervised practice makes up for the hours uncounted.

    Our training includes:

    • pre-requisite reading and observation of at least two B4 School checks (4hrs)
    • two-day session in-person incl.an open book theory assessment post training (14hrs)
    • supervised clinical assessments with your B4SC lead nurse provider at your practice (approx. 6hrs).

    Please note the emphasis on attendees having observed B4School checks before the training day to give context to the clinical guidelines covered during the training.

    We are committed to providing training that supports B4SC nurses in the Waikato region, to confidently carry out these important and holistic checks and want to remain in line with the Ministry of Health recommendations for best practice. 

    Catering

    Morning tea, afternoon tea and light lunch will be provided each day.

    Parking

    Roadside parking outside the Pinnacle office is only free for one hour. We recommend you park slightly further away and walk to the office or be prepared to pay for all day parking.

    • Who is the B4SC champion at your practice?
    • Do you have any dietary requirements? (If yes, please detail.)

    A confirmation email will be sent to all registered participants.

    Reading to be completed prior to your attendance will be sent to your email address one month before the course.
